Hacking the Deal
Since PayPal Check out is used mostly when shopping online, remember to use a shopping portal. The ones that I like are:
So, with the above, an online purchase via a shopping portal and using PayPal to Check Out (w/AmEx Platinum as the chosen PayPal Payment method) one would get the following 1x Membership Rewards for the purchase, additional points or cashback, and up to $30 in credits for using PayPal.
For example, as of this writing, if one would make a $200 purchase at Neiman Marcus using the Rakuten shopping portal and checking out via PayPal, you would receive the following:
- 200 Membership Reward points from the Platinum Card
- $30 from the PayPal credit on the Platinum Card
- Either $20 or 2,000 Membership Reward points from Rakuten
