Last Call 2020: Deals / Credits that Expire at Year’s End

The Deals:

As I was going through and paying bills, I was reminded that a number of my credit cards come with deals and credits that are expiring on 12/31/2020. The following are calendar year based credits only. They include Subscription Deals, Credit Card Credits, Credit Card Spend Bonuses, and Loyalty Point Transfer Bonuses. As a reminder to myself so that I didn’t leave money on the table, I created this list – hopefully it will help some of you.

Subscription Deals:

Free Calm App ($70 value)

American Express has teamed up with the Calm app to offer a complimentary year of Calm Premium, then if you choose to continue, a second year 50% off with automatic renewal. This is available for AmEx Consumer Card Members, Corporate Card Members, and Card Members with Cards issued in the U.S. by third parties. Free Headspace ($13 value)

World of Hyatt is hotel chain that puts extra emphasis on a person’s health and well being. To the best of my knowledge, their credit card is the only one that gives extra rewards for fitness clubs and gym memberships. Hyatt has partnered with Headspace to provide a free month of access (instead of the typical 1-week) if you sign up by 12/31/2020 at https://www.headspace.com/worldofhyatt.

Free Panera Coffee (and Tea) ($27 value)

Sign up at https://www.panerabread.com/en-us/mypanera/mypanera-coffee-subscription.html by 12/31/2020 and your first 3 months to MyPanera+ Coffee subscription are Free. After that, it will be $8.99/month – so set a reminder to cancel if you don’t want to continue the subscription.

New Shopping Portal Account Bonuses:

The Rakuten Shopping Portal is offer a new account bonus of $20 after spending $20 if you sign up by 12/31/2020. And if you have an American Express card that earns Membership Rewards, then instead of earning cashback, you can configure your account to earn MR points (at a rate of 1 MR point = 1 cent), thus making this bonus worth 2,000 MR points!

Spend offers with AmEx cards usually fall into two categories: AmEx Offers and High Spend offers. The AmEx Offers must be added to your card first (and to only one of your cards, so choose wisely). High Spend Offers will get you either elite status or a free night certificate at a hotel or both.
